Though this is not my first book while employed with Walsworth, but it's one of the first books I was able to design and conceive on my own with the help of the yearbook staff during a workshop in Palo Alto, CA. I was hoping to see one of the Franco's during my stay, but fate had other plans. Here was where the magic took place!
The theme this year was Growing Growing Gone. Having this in mind, the school wasn't too sure how the cover should be designed, but were up for any possibilities. I mentioned the idea of trying to create the sensation of a Redwood tree since the school is named after those gigantic beauties California is known for. Seeing the theme and pitching the idea, the students were completely on board!
Below is the beginning sketch applied to the actual template supplied by Walsworth. Trying to simulate the applications that were being used was an interesting challenge for me since I've never done it before, but it helped give the yearbook staff of Redwood High School a good idea of how the final product would turn out.

And this is how it turned out! Materials used for the cover was Silktouch Thermo Yana 29924 Red or Silktone Red with Debossing, GR-25 Bark and Matte Gold Foil. Decorated cover with some really lavishing qualities!
So lavishing in fact, that I made it my cover photo on my Facebook page! Check some other ideas and artwork I've done on there! facebook.com/10MesserDesigns01/
